    Breeders' Cup LogoThe 27th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, will air live in HD November 5-6 on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2. ESPN will have more than nine hours of coverage as both Friday and Saturday races will finish under the lights for the first time in Breeders’ Cup history. Championship Friday, November 5, 2010, will begin at 4 p.m. EST on ESPN2. Saturday’s action will begin at 1:30 p.m. on ABC and continue on ESPN from 3:30-7 p.m. ESPN3.com will simulcast the ESPN and ESPN2 telecasts live, while ESPN Mobile TV and ESPNNetworks.com will simulcast the ESPN telecast on Saturday, November 6, 2010.

    The Breeders’ Cup World Championships consist of 14 Championship Graded races with purses and awards for the two days totaling $26 Million. The races are set for Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 at Churchill Downs.

    The pre-entry deadline for the 2010 Championships is Noon, Monday, October 25, 2010. All horses that want to compete in the Breeders’ Cup hampionships must be pre-entered by this date. This is followed by the entry deadline on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 which closes promptly at 10:00 a.m.

    First post on Friday, November 5th will be at 2:00 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. will be the first post for the Championships. For the first time ever the Championship races on Friday will be run under lights. First post on Saturday, November 6th will be 12:05 p.m. with a 1:50 p.m. first post for the Championships.

    belmont-stakes-152The 154th running of the Belmont Stakes is this Saturday at Belmont Park. The Belmont Stakes is the 11th race on that day and the post time for the race is 6:32 pm EST.

    ABC will cover the race from 5:00 to 7:00 pm

    Kentucky Derby 2010 Winner Super Saver was the favorite to win the Preakness Stakes, but luck was not on his side as he finished in eighth place, luck in fact was Lookin at Lucky who on May 15 became the 135th Preakness Stakes winner.

    Trained by Bob Baffert Lookin at Lucky had an awesome race when he finished the 1 3/16 miles in just 1:55:47 just 3/4 length ahead of First Dude.

    The other positions were the third place of Jackson Ben, 4th Yawanna Twist, 5th Dublin, 6th Paddy O’Prado, 7th Caracortado, 8th Super Saver, 9th Schoolyard Dreams, 10th Aikenite, 11th Pleasant Prince, and 12th Norther Giant.

    The 2010 Preakness post positions were drawn today. Kentucky Derby hero Super Saver was installed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite Wednesday in a field of 12 entered for Saturday’s 135th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course.

    Lookin At Lucky, whose chances as the favorite in the Kentucky Derby were severely compromised when he drew the No. 1 post position, will attempt to rebound in the Preakness from the No. 7 post position. The 2009 juvenile champion, who will be ridden for the first time by Martin Garcia, was rated second in the morning line at 3-1.
