Horse racing history can be made this Saturday, June 6, as jockey Calvin Borel looks to become the first jockey ever to capture the Triple Crown on two or more horses at the 141st running of the Belmont Stakes.

Borel will ride former Canadian two-year-old champion Mine That Bird at this weekend’s marquee event at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY, where the horse is the 2-1 favorite and will start from the No. 7 post position.

Borel and Mine That Bird overcame 50-1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby on May 5. Three weeks later, Borel rode filly Rachel Alexandra to victory at the Preakness Stakes, capturing the second jewel of the Triple Crown. Mine that Bird, with jockey Mike Smith, placed second at the Preakness.

The drawing for post positions in the 2009 Belmont Stakes just wrapped up so let’s take a look at who will start where.
