Quality Road takes the Grade 2, $250,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes for 3-year-olds at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 28, 2009. Lightly raced Quality Road put himself in the middle of the Kentucky Derby debate with this victory. The one-mile race is a prep for the Florida Derby on Saturday, March 28.
The time for the Fountain of Youth was 1:35.01 on a fast track.
Completing the order of finish was Capt. Candyman Can, This Ones for Phil, Bee Cee Cee, Notonthesamepage, Jack Spratt, Taqarub and Break Water Edison. Rocketing Returns and Take the Points were scratched from the race.
Quality Road returned $13.00, $6.40 and $4.60. Theregoesjojo paid $5.80 and $3.80, and Beethoven paid $3.80 to show.
